X-Tina trashes Britney

Christina Aguilera has branded Britney Spears trashy.

In an interview with Us Weekly magazine she adds that Spears' self-financed engagement ring looks like something she bought from a shopping channel.

Aguilera reportedly said: "I can't believe that girl bought her own engagement ring! I've seen it, up close. It looks like she got it on QVC."

She added: "I know Britney. She's not trailer trash, but she sure acts that way."

Spears has been attacked for her grungy appearance in recent months since cancelling her Onyx Hotel world tour after sustaining a knee injury during a video shoot.

Aguilera herself is engaged to record company executive Jordan Bratman, although the two were recently reported to have separated after rowing at a New York strip club.

She told America's Jane magazine that Bratman is "the one guy I can credit for making me think about marriage in a whole new light."

In another barb aimed at Spears, she added: "Right now, everybody else is jumping the gun. I don't want to jump into marriage yet."

Spears and Aguilera have been rivals since they co-starred with Justin Timberlake on "The Mickey Mouse Club" in the early 1990s.

The pair were believed to have patched up their differences when they performed a medley of "Like A Virgin" and "Hollywood" with Madonna at last year's MTV VMA Awards.
