Live Aid DVD revealed

(Wednesday August 25, 2004 07:14 AM)

Details have been released of the forthcoming Live Aid DVD set.

The four-disc set will contain all the performances from the London and Philadelphia shows, except Led Zeppelin's set, plus bonus footage from Sydney and Holland.

As previously reported, Led Zeppelin have refused to allow footage of them in Philadelphia to be included, branding the quality "sub-standard".

Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones will instead contribute proceeds from their own upcoming DVD and tour to the Live Aid charity.

Michael Buerk's historic report from Ethiopia will also be included, along with the videos for Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas?", USA For Africa's "We Are The World" and David Bowie and Mick Jagger's "Dancing In The Streets".

The artists featured, in order of appearance, are:

Disc One: Status Quo, The Style Council, The Boomtown Rats, Adam Ant, Ultravox, Spandau Ballet, Elvis Costello, Nik Kershaw, Sade, Sting, Phil Collins, Howard Jones, Bryan Ferry, Paul Young, Bryan Adams and U2.

Disc Two: The Beach Boys, Dire Straits, George Thorogood & The Destroyers, Queen, Simple Minds, David Bowie, Joan Baez, The Pretenders, The Who, Kenny Loggins, Elton John with Kiki Dee and George Michael.

Disc Three: Madonna, Paul McCartney, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Black Sabbath, REO Speedwagon, Crosby Stills & Nash, Judas Priest, The Cars, Neil Young, Thompson Twins, Eric Clapton, Duran Duran and Patti Labelle.

Disc Four: Hall & Oates with Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin, Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, Lionel Richie, INXS, B.B. King, Ashford & Simpson with Teddy Pendergrass and Cliff Richard.

The Live Aid DVD set will be released in the UK on November 1.
