X-Tina and Courtney's auction

(Tuesday October 12, 2004 07:47 AM)

Christina Aguilera and Courtney Love have donated items to an online charity auction.

The Vanity Fair In Concert charity auction aims to give fans "the chance to bid on one-of-a-kind, music-inspired items" to benefit the Step Up Women's Network.

The Step Up Women's Network is a non-profit organisation working to provide better community resources for women and girls to improve their futures.

Aguilera's items up for auction on eBay include several different outfits, including a skirt she wore in the "Dirrty" video currently selling for $262 [£147], and signed photographs.

Love has donated signed lithographs and posters of the cover of her album "America's Sweetheart". Maroon 5 have given a Fender Stratocaster signed by the entire band.

Radiohead have given canvases painted by the band on the "Kid A" tour and a tapestry from the "Amnesiac" tour.

Other stars who have donated items include Gwen Stefani, Enrique Inglesias, Duran Duran, Green Day, Backstreet Boys, Doves, Beth Orton and Air.

The auction coincides with the publication of Vanity Fair's annual music issue, featuring Elvis Costello, Sting and U2.

The auctions continue online until October 14 and 17. To find them on eBay.com, search for seller 'vanityfairmagazine'.
