Arctic Monkeys' frontman Alex Turner is recording a new album, but this time without his band.

The rocker has instead teamed up with old mate Miles Kane, from Indie band The Rascals.

But this is not the first time the pair have worked together as The Rascals were invited to join the Arctic's on their earlier tour.

Kane also became an honorary member of the band to play guitar on their second album, Favourite Worst Nightmare.

The pair are planning on making a holiday out of the recording project, heading to France to make the as yet untitled record.

It's expected the pair's album will come out in the first half of 2008, after The Rascals have released their debut album.
