Q: Red carpet closes

The 2006 Q Awards are now underway, after all the stars made their way up the red carpet at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

Oasis have arrived, although there was no sign of Liam Gallagher, while U2 have also not yet been spotted but may have joined the party via a secret entrance.

12:38 - Sister Bliss from Faithless arrives, making her first public appearance since giving birth.

12:43 - Colin describes Jamelia, who is wearing a lavish red dress, as "a sexy MILF".

12:45 - Kooks say hello to Yahoo! with three hats for the four-strong band. They also claim it's "fighting time" after a year of apparently being slagged off.

12:48 - Colin writes down the name of the three members of the Sugababes on his hand but gets Amelle Berrabah's wrong.

12:52 - Muse admit they are "indebted" to Pete Townshend from The Who.

12:55 - Girls Aloud emerge in pristine, glamorous style.

01:00 - Jay Kay speaks to reports and photographers without getting into a fight.

01:10 - Colin Murray is left speechless for the first time, as he encounters one of his heroes, Smokey Robinson.
