Britney album delayed?

Britney Spears will not release her new album until 2008, it has been claimed.

The pop superstar, who has endured a turbulent 12 months in the full glare of the media, is reported to be working on a follow-up to 2003's "In The Zone".

However, it has now been claimed that she's on "hiatus", delaying the new recordings into next year.

A spokesperson for Britney revealed the news, despite reports that work with producers such as Sean Garrett, Jonathan Rotem and Pharrell Williams is progressing well.

Leslie Sloane Zelnik commented: "I put her on hiatus. Brit's album is pushed until '08. If she has no album, there's no reason to do anything.

"I'm representing her in theory right now. I said that since the album is pushed back until '08, let's go on hiatus until we have a campaign to do."

Recently, Britney sought advice from her fans in choosing a title for the forthcoming LP, offering them a series of titles to choose from.

They included "Omg Is Like Lindsay Lohan Like Okay Like", "What If The Joke Is On You", "Down Boy", "Integrity" and "Dignity"
