Morrissey quits gig
(Wednesday June 27, 2007 10:56 AM)
Morrissey was forced to cancel a show in America after he succumbed to a throat infection, according to reports.
The former Smiths legend was playing a concert in Boston on Tuesday evening, when he walked off stage after just seven songs.
The show at the Bank Of America Pavillion had lasted just 30 minutes, including takes on "The Queen Is Dead" and "The Last Of The Famous International Playboys".
However, Morrissey had already warned the 5,000 crowd that he was unwell, during the intro to "National Front Disco", claims the Orlando Sentinel.
He told the crowd: "Unfortunately it will not just be the emotions cracking tonight but my voice as well."
After the show, disappointed fans claimed his voice had been affected by a performance on "The Late Show With David Letterman", the previous evening.
A pair of upcoming concerts - in Northampton, Massachusetts tonight and Philadelphia on Friday - have also been postponed.
The tour is expected to continue in New York City at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.
