Lily Allen has slammed suggestions that she was subjected to a humiliating strip search during a five-hour grilling by immigration officials in the US.
The 22-year-old pop star had her working visa withdrawn at Los Angeles airport leaving her tour of the States in September in jeopardy.
Lily's spokesman said: "Lily was questioned and her work visa was revoked. She was detained for five hours but not strip searched. Understandably she was upset by it."
Despite the ordeal, Lily has vowed not to let down fans in the US, but first, she must urgently get new paperwork. She had jetted in from Australia to attend the MTV video music awards launch in Las Vegas.
US immigration officials concluded that she was not welcome as a result of her arrest in London following an alleged clash with a photographer in March.
After the ordeal, Lily vowed to return: "I want my fans to know that I will do everything I can to be back in America. I don't like letting my fans down and this is a situation that I am sure we can sort."
