Kanye bows to fan pressure
(Tuesday September 16, 2008 03:54 PM)
Rap star Kanye West has gone back to the drawing board after an initial version of a new track was panned by fans online.
"Love Lockdown" - the first single to appear from West's forthcoming new album "808s and Heartbreak" - was originally posted at the rapper's 'blog last week.
However, fans were disgruntled at what they perceived to be "below average" production and West's use of Auto-Tune in the chorus.
A 'blog post today brought news of a new version, West asserting that "Your prayers have been answered! There's a new version of love "Love Lockdown" (sic) coming.
"We used new Taiko drums and I re-sung it… it's being mastered now."
He did seem to suggest however that the Auto-Tuned vocals will remain on the new version, stating: "If you don't like Auto-Tune too bad 'cause I love it and have been using it since "The College Dropout"."
"808s and Heartbreak" is due for release through Roc-A-Fella records in December.
