Gorillaz plan comeback

(Monday September 22, 2008 11:25 AM)

Gorillaz are set to begin work on a new album, Damon Albarn has revealed.

The animated pop collective were thought to have quit making music following 2005's acclaimed, international best-seller "Demon Days".

However, former Blur star Albarn says he and artistic partner Jamie Hewlett have now decided to record a follow-up.

"We came back from summer holidays and realised we could do exactly what we wanted to do with Gorillaz", said Albarn.

"Essentially, Jamie just had to agree to draw the characters again. 'Cause I just do what I do anyway."

Hewlett admits to being "so f*cking bored of drawing those characters" and the duo remain uncertain about what direction the album will take.

"We're not entirely certain; we generally just go with our gut. I dunno. We are obtuse and quite abstract, really", continued Albarn.

"We play a game but it's not strictly the game. Sometimes it really works and sometimes...Actually, usually it really works".
