Hope for Guns blogger?

(Friday October 31, 2008 05:27 AM)

Criminal charges against a blogger alleged to have leaked songs from the new Guns N' Roses album have been downgraded, according to reports.

Kevin Cogill stands accused of making nine tracks from the forever delayed available online in June, ahead of its release.

However, the FBI investigation is now said to have recommended downgrading the charge from a felony to a misdemeanour.

If convicted, Cogil is likely to face a maximum of one year in prison, rather than the originally mooted five.

The songs he is said to have leaked were "Chinese Democracy", "Better", "The Blues", "Madagascar", "There Was A Time", "IRS", "Rhiad & The Bedouins", "Prostitute" and "If the World".

"Chinese Democracy" is now scheduled to come out on November 24.
