Kasabian: Americans are deluded

Kasabian’s Tom Meighan has laid into American music fans while bemoaning his own band’s lack of impact across the pond.
The singer suggested that the US public are “deluded” and think they are more ahead than they actually are in musical terms.
“We’re like a cult band over there,” he told XFM.
“You have to be U2 or Coldplay to get radio play.
“Americans are deluded,” Meighan continued, “not all of them – they think they’re ahead but musically they’re not. They’re 30 years behind.”
The comments come after the band’s most recent album “West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum” only reached number 126 on the American Billboard chart.
The record went straight in at number one in the UK, while it was also nominated for the Mercury Prize earlier this week.
