U2 hit Berlin
(Wednesday October 28, 2009 11:13 AM)
U2 will mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall with a concert at the Brandenburg Gate next month.
Bono and co's show at the German landmark is part of the MTV Europe Music Awards in the capital.
It will be beamed into the event, "to celebrate music, freedom and the birth of a new age in Europe", said awards chief Antonio Campo Dall'Orto.
"It'll be an exciting spot to be in, 20 years almost to the day since the wall came down. Should be fun", said U2 manager Paul McGuinness.
The November 5 ceremony will be hosted by US singer Katy Perry and takes place show at the city's O2 World arena.
Lady Gaga and Green Day lead the 2009 MTV field with five nominations each, while U2 are up for Best Rock Band. Search for U2 music, memorabilia and more on Kelkoo
