Beatles catalogue pulled
(Friday November 06, 2009 06:49 PM)
A music website has been forced to pull The Beatles' recordings after a judge issued an injunction.
As previously reported, BlueBeat.com have been selling The Fab Four's back catalogue online this week.
Their move marked the first time fans were able to snap-up the historic collection in download form, for as little as 15p per track.
However, a Los Angeles judge today ordered the content be removed and banned the company from streaming or selling any EMI Music.
Bluebeat's owner, Hank Risan, claims he was able to offer the tracks because they had utilised "psycho-acoustic simulation".
Citing a section of the Copyright Act, which generally apply to tribute bands, Risan insists he does not need to license The Beatles' music.
