Stars of pop and TV are due to join legends of international football for the eagerly anticipated Soccer Aid charity match.
Robbie Williams will captain an England celebrity XI against a Rest of the World side led by chef Gordon Ramsay and featuring former Argentina international Diego Maradona at Manchester United's Old Trafford ground.
A record-breaking sell-out crowd of 75,000 fans will watch the match, with millions expected to tune in for live television coverage of the game, held in aid of children's charity UNICEF.
The England team, captained by Williams and managed by former England coach Terry Venables, will feature former England internationals Paul Gascoigne, John Barnes, Tony Adams, David Seaman and Bryan Robson alongside TV stars Jamie Theakston and Angus Deayton.
After battling a thigh injury this week, Ramsay is expected to lead the Rest of the World team including Maradona, former Chelsea star Gianfranco Zola and ex-spin doctor Alastair Campbell.
His team will be managed by former Dutch international and ex-Chelsea manager Ruud Gullit.
Members of the two squads have met Prime Minister Tony Blair in Downing Street.
Maradona's late inclusion in the Rest of the World side is likely to add spice to the fixture.
The former Argentina international scored a controversial "Hand of God" goal against England in the 1986 World Cup.
Tickets for the match, which will be broadcast live on ITV1, have sold out, despite the increased capacity afforded by mixing fans.
