Hollywood star Kevin Costner is to release a country music album.

The Bodyguard actor fronts rock band Modern West in between making movies, and now the group is to try and win over country fans with their take on the genre, according to People.com.

The as-yet-untitled LP features 12 tracks, six of which were co-written by Costner, and will hit US stores on 11 November.
