The Aussie singer, who is battling with cancer, pipped pop star Rachel Stevens and actress Angelina Jolie in a poll organised by British Airways.

Actress Cameron Diaz was in fourth place, with Beyonce fifth.

For women, the most popular in-flight companion was actor George Clooney.

Robbie Williams was second, with actors Brad Pitt, Will Smith and Jude Law in the next three positions.

The survey of 2,000 passengers found that Paris was the most romantic destination, followed by Rome, Barbados, New York and Prague.

A BA spokeswoman said: "Everyone is intrigued about who will turn up in the next seat and Kylie would obviously be a dream companion for most men.
